Like Jesus – The Model | Week 5
In Week 5 of Like Jesus – The Model, Pastor DJ Grick teaches on Chair 1: The Seeker.
Every person who comes to faith has a different story. Some were raised around the Gospel from childhood. Others came to faith later through long-term relationships, patient invitations, and the loving witness of Christ-followers. In this message, we look at how Jesus modeled reaching spiritually lost people with both truth and compassion.
Chair 1 is not simply about helping nice people become a little more religious. Scripture teaches that apart from Christ, people are spiritually dead in sin and unable to save themselves. That is why evangelism matters. Jesus modeled how to partner with the Holy Spirit to move people toward repentance and faith in Christ.
Using Isaiah 28, Ephesians 2, and the example of Jesus, this message explores the process of evangelism as:
cultivating
planting
reaping
Outreach is a process. We build relationships, plant Gospel seeds, and trust God for the harvest.
Key Bible Passages

What This Message Covers
In this sermon, we look at how Jesus:
entered into our world
understood the people He was reaching
made Himself available
developed intentional relationships
responded to spiritual interest
clearly called people to repent and believe
This message is also a challenge to the church: evangelism is most effective when it is motivated by love, lived out relationally, and grounded in the truth that Jesus Christ is the only way to be restored to God.
