Mark your calendars for one week from today, January 10th, 10 days before Trump's second inauguration. Unfortunately, we already know the likely sentence: unconditional discharge. In other words: no payments, no prison time, no probation- no penance. The only bright spot here is that after the sentencing, Donald Trump will finally hold the formal title of convicted felon under New York law.

So... now what? Now what do we do to keep involved and do something to change the course of our path? How do we move forward and get off our asses? In a world where every empire so far has fallen eventually due to lack of engagement: refuse to fall into apathy.

Because after three Republican Reps voted no, their colleagues kept the vote open while they managed to cajole the dissidents into switching. It's as unanimous and reflective of a mandate as Trump's popular vote win...

Then, Jim and Dom debate the merits and very obvious demerits of Merrick Garland's tenure as Attorney General.

In news both local and national, Ben Wikler's candidacy for Chair of the Democratic National Committee advances. Chuck Schumer, current Senate Majority leader endorsed Wikler's bid in a show of supporting a new wave of fresh leadership for the party. We are past due for a changing of the hands that lead this country. Earlier in the month, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came up short in her bid for the ranking spot on the House Oversight Committee. She lost against 74-year-old Rep. Gerry Connolly, who stated that he was due for the position.

We're bringing in the New Year with Earl Ingram as cohost. 2025 dawns with too many people firing off guns and a terror attack in New Orleans. Not to let any good tragedy go to waste, Trump and his MAGA cult jumped on the story before clear details emerged to paint the attacker in New Orleans as an illegal immigrant. The driver, who rammed a rented truck into a crowd celebrating the New Year, was a native born United States citizen. In an apparently unrelated event, a man rented a Cybertruck in Las Vegas, loaded it with explosives, and killed himself with a gunshot to explode the vehicle. Another native-born US Citizen. In addition, both men served in the United States Army, the Las Vegas driver was active duty.

Dom and Earl discuss the outrage that we need to address Trump and his cronies lies about these two events. We should be using our time to address the pressing needs of those who serve our country when they return home. So we do just that. Because these events? They're a reflection of US.
