The civil war in Syria has erupted again, with rebel forces giving President Bashar al-Assad his fiercest challenge yet, following the capture of Hama and capital Aleppo. His ally, Russian president Vladimir Putin, is now being drawn into the conflict, while Turkish and Iraqi leaders hold discussions with their Syrian counterpart amid an escalation.
