Climate models predict the number of days above 30 degrees will increase significantly in Montreal in the decades to come. But these heat waves won't affect everyone in the city equally. In this episode, we take a tour through Montreal in the grip of a heat wave, exploring the city's unequally distributed urban heat islands, diving into an overheating human body, and examining a neighbourhood where measures meant to address heat waves are having a nearly opposite effect.

Montreal is a city shaped by water, but with the climate crisis, that relationship could become harder to manage. In this episode, Zone Rouge traces the routes of Montreal's waterways - from the St. Lawrence, to the hidden rivers that once flowed through the city - to examine how flood risks are increasing in an era of climate change.
