Saskatchewan's distracted driving fines are set to make a big jump. Starting Feb. 1, 2020, the fine will increase from $280 to $580 for a first offense, plus four demerits. A second offence within a year will result in a $1,400 ticket and four demerits, plus a seven-day vehicle seizure. A third offense will result in a $2,100 ticket, four demerits, and another seven-day seizure. SGI Minister Joe Hargrave says 22 people lost their lives on Saskatchewan roadways in 2018 due to distraction or inattention, and "enough is enough." Hargrave joins Gormley now to discuss the changes.
