A century-old tradition is returning to Saskatchewan to honour our military veterans. During the First and Second World Wars, care packages were sent to troops overseas to boost morale and thank them for their service. Now, the Saskatchewan Government is reviving that tradition by sending care kits to vets and members of the Canadian Forces around the province. The kits include letters of thanks, hand-crafted scarves, and cross-stitched ornaments. Greg Lawrence, MLA and provincial military liaison, says the care packages serve double-duty by acknowledging the recipients' service and highlighting the importance of good mental health. Lawrence joins Gormley now to discuss the care package program.
