The English designer of Saskatchewan's official flag only lived in the province for three years, but he certainly made a lasting impact. Anthony Drake, a teacher originally from East Yorkshire, came to Canada with his wife in 1966 and decided to submit a design for the official flag after seeing a contest in the paper offering a $1,000 prize. Drake's design divided the flag in half vertically and used green to represent the northern forests while yellow represents the southern prairies. Hodgeville resident Gail Hapanowicz brought Drake to the province in 2015 to see his flag flying, and this year she's bringing Drake back for a tour to mark the 50th anniversary of Saskatchewan's flag. Drake joins John now to talk about his unique story and the meaning behind Saskatchewan's flag.
