An Ontario family has made a human rights complaint against their daughter's former school division, alleging their six-year-old daughter was distressed and confused by her teacher's lessons on gender which claimed "girls are not real," "boys are not real," and said gender is not connected to biology. Pamela Buffone, the girl's mother, says her daughter even asked to see a doctor because she was so confused about her identity. Buffone's daughter has since switched schools and is doing much better, but Buffone and her husband are still pursuing their human rights complaint, saying the Ottawa-Careleton District School Board discriminated against their daughter based on her gender and gender identity. Buffone joins John now to discuss the case.
