Prosecutors in London have laid terrorism charges against the suspect in an attack against a Muslim family, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Chatham-Kent is going down again, and police say the Old Colony Mennonite Churches in Chatham-Kent are still holding services in violation of the Reopening Ontario Act.

The bill is in for the cost of looking into building a new twin-pad arena in Chatham-Kent, the man who's accused of running down and killing four members of a Muslim family in London is set to make another court appearance this morning, and more Ontario residents are eligible to get their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine now.

A 25-year-old Chatham woman has been transferred to a hospital in Windsor with serious injuries after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street on Park Avenue East in Chatham, no change in Chatham-Kent's active COVID-19 cases today, and there won't be any traditional graduation ceremonies this year at the two largest school boards in Lambton-Kent.

Patios are reopening across much of Ontario today as the province starts to loosen pandemic restrictions, a Chatham-Kent councillor wants to open up more outdoor spaces to local businesses that are unable to re-open just yet, and it looks like most of the gas that was bubbling up from the ground in downtown Wheatley has dissipated -- but the homes that were evacuated as a result will need to stay empty for now.

Evening News for Thursday, June 10, 2021

The Chatham-Kent public health unit is reporting another COVID-19 death in the municipality, Chatham-Kent police are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash just outside of Dresden that sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries, and the 20-year-old man accused of killing four members of one family and seriously injuring a nine-year-old boy in London had a bail hearing this morning.

The COVID-19 numbers in Chatham-Kent are looking good just in time for Step 1 of Ontario’s reopening tomorrow, a man who was killed in Chatham last week is being laid to rest, and the man accused of killing four members of a Muslim family in London earlier this week is scheduled to appear in court today.
