TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger says that it's normal for owners to get involved with contract negotiations when they get down to the final stages. Dreger also said that if Boeser hits all the marks the Canucks expect he will, that the team will have no problem offering a substantial long term contract when the current deal expires.

TSN's Kristian Jack says against Houston, the Whitecaps earned the right to have the breaks go their way. Kristian says at times this season, the Whitecaps lost because the talent wasn't there but also because they didn't have the luck or the bounces going their way.
