Pete Schaad isn’t sure what to make of the Whitecaps 4-0 loss to Chicago, but suggests the return of a number of players and the absence of Kendall Waston has left the Whitecaps in a bit of disarray as they try to figure out which lineup works. Pete says the Whitecaps should have the talent to be a playoff team, but simply can’t afford to drop more points at home

Mike Zeisberger of the Toronto Sun suggests the NHL is in an era where teams are closer than ever, and when they think they have a shot, teams have to take advantage of that. With that in mind, Mike doesn’t mind the Marleau signing in Toronto and says there’s cautious optimism in Toronto about next season. Mike suggests the Marleau signing may also be the start of a domino effect that sees JVR or Bozak moved for a top-four defenseman
