You can believe God forgives you and still wake up feeling dirty, stuck, and disqualified. That gap between “I know” and “I feel” is where shame keeps a lot of Christian men silent, isolated, and replaying their worst moments on repeat. We go straight at that tension with Dr. Joe Beam, who doesn’t teach this from theory. He lived it through adultery, divorce, the fallout of being caught, and the long road back to reconciliation and remarriage.

On Mount Carmel, in full view of 850 false prophets, “Elijah repaired the altar of the Lord” (1 Kings 18:30).
Why? Why did the prophet rebuild the altar? Because it was a tool of worship. Do we long to see revival? Then let us begin at the altar.
Why does worship matter? Simple. The devil wants the top spot. When you worship God, when you publicly praise Jehovah in song and sacrament, Satan is defeated. He has no recourse to a worshipping church—none. When we sing, angels stand. When we pray, demons flee. When we look to God, heaven hearkens to listen, and hell hurries to leave. Wonder happens when God’s people worship.

How do great leaders keep success from breeding entitlement? In this week's episode, John Maxwell teaches why revisiting where you came from—and cultivating gratitude—creates the stable foundation every leader needs to rise higher.
After his lesson, Mark Cole and Chris Goede discuss real-life strategies to help you anchor your leadership in authentic gratitude and apply John's insights today.
Key takeaways:
To balance an entitlement mindset, put gratitude beside it.
You always need to go back and visit where you came from.
You never want to forget all the people and all the places that made you who you are today.
Our BONUS resource for this episode is the Success and Gratitude: Why Great Leaders Revisit Where They Came From Worksheet, which includes fill-in-the-blank notes from John's teaching. You can download the worksheet by visiting MaxwellPodcast.com/Revisit and clicking "Download the Bonus Resource."

Before my close friend’s wedding, we meticulously set the table for two hundred guests at the reception. With joyful anticipation we spent hours folding napkins, aligning cutlery, straightening tablecloths, and arranging flowers. After putting in all that work, we couldn’t wait for guests to arrive and enjoy it!

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) reads, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Our enemy is the devil. At the end of this age, his time will end. Until then, expect our Father to show up. He will not sit still while Satan harms his creation.
Our days are as dark as were the days of Elijah. Our God is as alive as he was in the days of Elijah. Dare we dream of a renewal that silences the stewards of Satan and reveals them for the frauds they are? Let’s imitate Elijah: Serve the Lord only! God wasn’t one of his options. God was his only option.
