On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. in room 1324 Longworth House Office Building, the Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States will hold a legislative hearing on the following bills:
H.R. 375 (Rep. Tom Cole), To amend the Act of June 18, 1934, to reaffirm the authority of the Secretary of the Interior to take land into trust for Indian Tribes, and for other purposes.
H.R. 312 (Rep. William Keating), To reaffirm the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe reservation, and for other purposes. ‘‘Mashpee Wampanoag 5 Tribe Reservation Reaffirmation Act’’
RESPECT Act (Rep. Raul M. Grijalva), To prescribe procedures for effective consultation and coordination by Federal agencies with federally recognized Indian Tribes regarding Federal Government activities that impact Tribal lands and interests to ensure that meaningful tribal input is an integral part of the Federal decision - making process. ‘‘Requirements, Expectations, and Standard Procedures 3 for Executive Consultation with Tribes Act’’
