Jesus gives his disciples an outlandish charge: cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Who does that?! And why does Jesus tell the disciples not to wear any shoes when they do it? Join Pastors Jen and Jacob as they launch a new sermon series exploring all the hot fashion trends in ancient Palestine.

Usually the Pharaohs of Egypt are portrayed as oppressive enslavers of the Israelites. But in the story of Joseph, this Pharaoh is pro-immigration and full of hospitality for Joseph’s estranged brothers. Join Pastor Jen as she explores what we can learn from this ancient Egyptian leader and his immigration policy.

Sometimes we respond to the news of our world by oscillating between denial and despair. But in a letter sent by the Prophet Jeremiah to the exiles in Babylon who were feeling both denial and despair, Jeremiah provides a third option. Join Pastor Jacob as we learn from Jeremiah's letter abut how to make the place we find ourselves in feel like home.

Many of us today don't think of ourselves as migrants because we have the means and privilege of putting down roots and calling it home. But did you know that we are, all a species, migratory beings? What does it mean that our God ordains and blesses migration? Join pastor Jen as she looks at the story of Abraham and Sarah and God's call for them to migrate.

Our new series comes at a poignant time a day after a hate crime against immigrants. People often wonder what the Bible has to say about modern issues and in today's sermon Pastor Jacob outlines God's instructions for how to love the "alien" in your land and explains that this kind of love is part of God's very nature.

Micah is best known for his question, “What does the Lord require of you?” But he also paints a wonderful vision of the future in which we will trade our warrior mentalities for gardener mentalities! Join Pastor Jen for our last One-Hit Wonder as she pairs “Everlasting Love” with the prophet Micah.

In the Book of Zechariah, the prophet Zechariah has a series of eight visions about rebuilding the city of Jerusalem. What does it mean for us to have a vision today for ourselves and for our world?

What does the song “Video Killed the Radio Star” have to do with Joel’s prophecy about a locust swarm? As we continue our "One Hit Wonders" sermon series, join Pastor Jen for a surprising look at these two seemingly disparate works and find out what Joel might be telling us today.

We kick-off our One-Hit Wonders sermon series with a look at the prophet Amos. Amos is obsessed with the concepts of justice and righteousness, but what do these words mean for him, and what do they mean today in a world where the idea of justice has become so overly politicized?
