This week, Anthony and James are speaking to two of our favorite artists, Caleb Darwent and Clareo!
Caleb Darwent is a non-binary, transfeminine, queer feminazi with a gay agenda. They are a writer of poetry and prose, and one half of musical theatre writing duo Darwent & Gray. Their work combines the comedic with the dramatic and deals with the realities of living life as a queer legend/icon/star.
Clareo is a transdisciplinary artist. Though her foundations are in the visual arts she has also performed in theater, circus and more recently, poetry. They lyrically, rhythmically and emphatically weaves tales of her experiences as a bisexual with a disability, into and against, frameworks that challenge her. Clareo revels in the quirkiness of being queer, hence queering up the arts in her first experience as curator for Periphery No More.
We talk about queering up the art scene, experiences are queer artists and some of the amazing projects both Caleb and Clareo are working on! We also chat about some of the exciting Bi+ news going on, including our new pick for a favorite tv show, ‘The Bisexual’.
