As of today, I’ve been married for 20 years. There is FAR more to say about that than can fit in a 10-minute podcast, but here are the things that came straight to the top.

I just spend several days at the very first VeeCon. It was a first-ever activation around Gary Vaynerchuk's NFT community, VeeFriends and was meaningful in more ways than one. Although I'd love to get into the basics of crypto and NFT's, what I was really impacted by was the community element of the VeeFriends brand.

The creative of every is NOT the brand, it is only the signal fire that shows the other people who feel the same about a certain topic or band or fashion where to gather together. Often we get confused and put the creative at the top. That's wrong.

People don't really celebrate the creation. They celebrate what it means to them.

Clarity Fam,

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to talk about perspective when the episode number (222) can be read the same front and back. I also happen to be wearing a tshirt from one of my favorite brands "Go Fast Don't Die" on which the back reads "Speed is a number, fast is a feeling."

You see, no two people have the exact same perspective. That's the beauty and curse of relationship. I'd argue it's mostly beauty, BTW. While 50 mph might feel slow to someone, it might feel lightning fast to someone else.

So here is some CLARITY on perspective...from my perspective.

Clarity Fam,

Good morning and HAPPY MAY! I'm pretty sure I've never wished anyone a "Happy May" before, but since its the beginning of a new quarter and the weather in Upstate NY has been stunning, it seemed appropriate.

This morning, however, my week was greeted with an email I didn't want. Someone whom we've been wanting to hire for a critical position in one of my companies decided not to join. Now the reasons were understandable and this person really seemed like if the situation was different, they would have made the move. However, it is all the same to the fact that we still have a big gap.

What would my next move be. Will I let it dictate the rest of my morning, day, or week? THESE are the moments I'm focusing on in today's episode.

So if you are having a hard time with something threatening your trajectory, this one's for you.

I’m coming off an absolutely gorgeous Upstate NY weekend with my family. As we were putzing about and clearing out our old office space getting it ready for a new tenant, we were doing a lot of thinking about how we got here. There was a lot of talk about how our first company was able to stick together like it did.

One of the core elements, and one of our company values was ‘gratitude’. This was far before it was a buzzword and it was anything but that in our company.

Today I talk about the choice that is ‘gratitude’ and why I believe it is the grease in the wheels for just about any team or individual pursuit.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this story, and keep marching forward with YOU!

Clarity Fam,

If you spent any time around young children, you are sure to hear the phrase, "That's not fair!" before long. The concept of "fair" is one that everyone wants to a point. This is especially true in sports. Without enforced rules, the game becomes less fun for everyone. However, over-focusing on 'fairness' is the quickest way to lose in so many areas of life.

The truth is that most of life isn't fair and will never be fair. This is why my wife, Sara, and I raise our kids to never use that phrase. Someone else is always smarter. Someone else is taller. Someone else has a friend in the industry to mentor them. Someone else is naturally more charismatic. Someone else has a better voice. I could go on forever.

This week I dig into the concept of 'fairness' and offer my thoughts on why I believe individuals should focus on it less.

I've been loving this track, Keepin it movin by one of my favorite Hip Hop artists, Andy Mineo. Consider it the soundtrack to this episode as we talk about the concept of "movement" this week.

Your relationships, business endeavors, health, and just about everything around you is in a state of movement. This means if you aren't intentional about the way you are moving, or intentional about moving at all, you are losing.

All movement isn't equal, but if you don't move, your toast. This is why we need that CLARITY. I try to get us all moving together in this weeks episode.

Clarity Fam,

Let't talk about 'context'. Last week, everyone was talking about the 'slap heard round the world' as Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars. We are NOT getting into that, however, I think it is important to consider that 'context' plays an important role in how we should think about it.

Actually, 'context' plays an important role in how we should think about everything, because nothing truly happens out of context. When it seems that way, I believe that we just haven't put enough time into considering the context.

I'll go one step further and say that the better and faster we get at accurately considering the context of all situations in our lives, whether it be relationships, business, stocks, news, parenting, etc, the far better we will be at decision making.

Context = Clarity.

Clarity Fam,

Often times we don’t need any more knowledge. No more wisdom. No more motivational quotes or insight-driven speeches. I’d argue that we’ve already heard 99% of what we need need to hear in order to do the next right thing.

What we typically need, is more acknowledgement and adherence to what we’ve already learned. This week the principle of reaping and sowing was put smack in the middle of many situations in my life.

Why do we so often expect one outcome when we’ve spend so much time fostering a different outcome?
