Christ became sin for us and died on the cross. If Jesus' story had ended at his grave, his death would have been heroic, yet futile. However, in his rising from the grave, we find there was more to his death than anyone realized.

Jesus took our sins upon himself and died on the cross in our place. That does not change the fact that we had done wrong. Neither does it make God any different than he was before. Rather, it removes the obstacles to our being reconciled to God.
