In this highlight clip from ClassCast Podcast Ep.001, professional boxer and personal trainer Eric Hernandez discusses high expectations, group work, and adjusting expectations with our host (and his former English teacher) Ryan Tibbens, who introduces the concept of the zone of proximal development. Enjoy!

Episode #002 of ClassCast features Ryan Tibbens interviewing former student/TA and current graphic designer, artist, and entrepreneur Esther Kim. Despite claiming to be "socially awkward," Esther carries the conversation well, sharing her experiences as a student, artist, young professional, and more. Throughout the discussion, we hear about everything from honing art skills to how student loans affect life decisions, from waiting on spoiled parents to family loyalty. Support Esther by checking out her (not-entirely-up-to-date website) www.EstherKimArtwork.com and following her on Instagram. (Yes, she takes private commissions.)

Enjoy this random clip from an early ClassCast recording. This is part of a much longer recording that was conducted to calibrate microphones, software, and other equipment. However, this snippet (recorded late at night -- excuse rough voices/etc.) was funny enough that we wanted to share it with our listeners. It starts with favorite teachers but quickly leads to cheerleader attire and pizza anxiety. Enjoy.

Here's a quick interview of Ryan Tibbens, conducted by his beautiful, charming wife, Ashley. This interview was partly intended to discuss the purpose of the ClassCast podcast and partly to test the new microphone and recording software. The final product is 'good enough' to share and provides a basic explanation of the podcast's initial mission. Hopefully the mission and the sound/recording quality will both continue to evolve.

Check out the first full episode of ClassCast, our podcast focusing on how school and education function in people's "real" lives. This episode features Eric Hernandez, a former student of Ryan Tibbens, a professional boxer, the owner/operator of Knockoutfitness LLC, and an all-around great guy. We've stalled the release of Episode #001 because Eric let slip that he and Ciera are expecting (and today, we found out that it will be a BOY)! Episode #001 is great because it captures raw, unplanned, unstructured conversation about school, business, and more; however, this was also the first episode, so our volume is a little low and we lost a few minutes of material because we were still learning.
Look out for Episode #002 tomorrow plus a few extra clips. (And keep on the lookout for second episode with Eric Hernandez soon!)
