After the Mishkan was completed, Moshe Rabbeinu blessed the Jewish people that the Shechinah should rest in their work. The Rebbe explains that even after doing all we can, we still need Moshe Rabbeinu’s blessing and connection in order to bring Hashem’s presence into our efforts.

Parshas Pekudei concludes Sefer Shemos with the completion of the Mishkan. Though the Jewish people did all the work, the Mishkan could only be raised through Moshe Rabbeinu and his blessing. The Rebbe explains the lesson for every generation: effort must be joined with connection to Moshe.

As we complete the book of Shemos with Vayakhel–Pekudei we say “Chazak Chazak v’Nischazek.” The Jerusalem Talmud notes that the 18 blessings of the Amidah correspond to 18 times in Pekudei that Moshe fulfilled Hashem’s command, teaching that prayer elevates every part of life to Hashem.
