By the way, this was a non-album single, as Gordon and his group made no albums. Note: This beautiful copy has very nearly Mint labels, and the vinyl grades Near Mint in appearance with just a couple of small scuffs. The audio, unfortunately, has a touch of surface noise here and there that lowers its grade to a strong EX. (You can sample the sound in the mp3 "snippet").

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy with a drillhole, in its original Chess/Checker/Cadet factory sleeve. You'll find a terrific cello and horn arrangement on this one... not to mention the vocals. Amazing! The B side ain't no slouch either... a great uptempo number. Note that this release is in true Stereo.

Here's a rarely found Near Mint copy of Marvin Gaye's classic 1971 hit, his first single after asserting creative control over his recorded work. What most don't realize is that the 45 rpm release was a different mix than the LP cut... and different from what you find on today's stereo reissues. The drums and percussion are mixed much more prominently, while the strings are toned down. The single edits out the jive talk at the beginning of the LP cut, but adds an odd fadeout-surprise fadein right at the ending. There are other differences as well — for example, the LP cut adds finger-popping that's absent from the 45 version. Listening to this version is like hearing this one for the first time! Note: This 45 record grades close to Mint in all respects (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).

It has very nearly Mint labels. Despite some notable scuffing on the vinyl (styrene), the audio plays back pristine Mint... no surface noise and no distortion.

This is one seriously great dance number, with a powerful sense of menace that you don't normally find in Disco music... Which is why I've decided to put it in the Philly Soul genre instead. No matter... it's a must-have 1975 rarity. The flip is an instrumental version, which is also terrific. Group is New York duo Mike Felder (guitar) and Bill Daniels (piano). They didn't make an album, just a couple of singles, which is why you won't find this tune in Apple Music, Spotify, or other primarily-album-based services. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Arista Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels with a small round sticker (no writing) on the B label. The vinyl (styrene) looks Near Mint, and the grooves preserve Mint sound.

Here's a beautiful copy of one my two favorite Linda Ronstadt recordings — the other being "Long Long Time." This single is frustratingly hard to find in Near Mint or better condition — even on reissue. Note: This 45 comes in a vintage Capitol Records factory sleeve. It has very nearly Mint labels and sound. The vinyl has a few light scuffs and also grades Near Mint because it's not completely flat (no "warp" per se).

Here's a single that I would have included in a list of the 1,001 greatest 45s of all time, though Dave Marsh (see his list under "Collect A List" in the left-hand column of the site) didn't.
