  • Them Changes by Buddy Miles
    Label: Mercury 73008
    Year: 1970
    Condition: M-
    Price: $15.00

This is the original release of the song, credited to 'Buddy Miles & the Freedom Express.' It was re-released in 1971 on a different catalog number and with a different flip, and became a somewhat bigger Pop hit. The A side is slightly edited from the 3:20 album track. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Mercury Records factory sleeve. It has pristine Mint audio.

  • Boogie Oogie Oogie by A Taste Of Honey
    Label: Capitol 4565
    Year: 1978
    Condition: M
    Price: $14.00

Essential Disco... Remember that guitar? That break? It's always great to hear this one again. Note: This beautiful 45 record has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio), and the picture sleeve is Near Mint with just a touch of wear.

  • Pump Up The Volume by MARRS
    Label: 4th & Bway 7452
    Year: 1987
    Condition: M
    Price: $14.00

This is a nearly new stock copy, in its original picture sleeve. This is a 'radio edit' from the album cut, as is the B side track. The band's name is spelled 'M/A/R/R/S' on the label. This single was a non-album release. Note: This beautiful 45 record has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio), and the picture sleeve is Near Mint.

  • Pink Cadillac by Bruce Springsteen
    Label: Columbia 04463
    Year: 1984
    Condition: M
Last Price: $20.00. Not currently available for sale.

This great single was Springsteen's first hit from his album Born In The U.S.A. For an artist whose previous career was very light on Top 10 hits (he'd had only one -- "Hungry Heart" -- in 1980), it was a huge surprise to all his fans (and probably to Springsteen himself) when that album ended up producing 7(!) Top 10 hits. That number tied Michael Jackson's record, just set the preceding year for his album Thriller.

But what makes this single extra-special is the B side, which never appeared on a Springsteen LP (except for later compilations). The previously unreleased, non-album "Pink Cadillac" is simply one of his very best rockers, and its inclusion on the single was a sweet gift to all of Springsteen's 7-inch vinyl collectors. As acknowledgment of its worth, the song became a big hit for Natalie Cole a couple of years later.

List nerd alert: It's "Dancing" that Dave Marsh thinks so highly of, ranking it at #281 in his Top 1,001 singles list. But me, I would have put "Pink Cadillac" higher on any list than "Dancing." Certainly, it gets a 2-star recommendation from Classic 45s (our highest)! Meaning: You must have this song in your collection... it's not an option! Preferably, you will own this 45 record, within whose grooves resides the original, archival version with jaw-dropping audio! Note: This beautiful 45 record has Mint labels and pristine sound, and the picture sleeve is nearly flawless!

  • Double Barrel by Dave and Ansil Collins
    Label: Big Tree 115
    Year: 1971
    Condition: M-
Last Price: $14.00. Not currently available for sale.

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original Ampex factory sleeve. When this one came out, most radio programmers approached it as a novelty tune... which it was, of course... novel, that is. Today it's obviously just an incredibly great reggae track. The flip is an instrumental version of the song. Note: This beautiful 45 has some light storage wear on the vinyl, grading Near Mint. The audio and labels are pristine Mint and the factory sleeve is oh so crispy!

  • For Your Love by Yardbirds
    Label: Epic 9790
    Year: 1965
    Condition: M-
Last Price: $40.00. Not currently available for sale.

Here's a remarkably beautiful copy of this 1960s Rock classic, impossible to find in decent condition but a single I always try to keep in stock. This time I lucked out: This copy miraculously retains pristine audio -- so special I recorded it quickly to iTunes and then made an mp3 snippet so you can hear for yourself! "For Your Love" was this seminal Hard Rock group's first and biggest U.S. hit. If I'm not mistaken, this is the combination of Yardbirds that found Jeff Beck playing lead guitar. As I recall, Eric Clapton left the group earlier in 1965, sort of in protest to the other members' interest in abandoning pure Blues and RnB for a catchy pop song like "For Your Love." All I can say is, "For Your Love" may be a catchy pop song as done by some other band, but this Yardbirds manage to put a muscular, almost sinister cast to the number, making it a prime example of hard rock, in the style being hammered out by bands like the Rolling Stones and Animals at the time. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Epic Records factory sleeve. The labels are very close to Mint. The vinyl (styrene) grades Near Mint, reflecting a few very light scuff marks.

  • Think by Aretha Franklin
    Label: Atlantic 2518
    Year: 1968
    Condition: M-
    Price: $24.00

Here's a beautiful copy of one of Aretha's very best -- and hardest-to-find -- singles. This copy has such great audio I had to celebrate by making an mp3 "snippet" of it... Enjoy! Note: This 45 record comes in a vintage Atlantic Records factory sleeve. The labels grade Near Mint with a drillhole (not shown in the scan). The vinyl looks almost untouched, and the audio sounds very close to Mint. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)

  • Rock 'N' Roll Is King by Electric Light Orchestra
    Label: Jet 03964
    Year: 1983
    Condition: M
    Price: $10.00

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. One of Lynne's swan songs as ELO, this is also perhaps the group's very best rocker. Irresistible! This 45 has a slightly edited version of a 3:38 album track. On the B side is a non-album cut. Note: This copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).

  • I'm A Man by Chicago
    Label: Columbia HOF 33210
    Year: 1971
    Condition: M
Last Price: $9.00. Not currently available for sale.

Originally released as the B side of Columbia 45467. The group was pretty audacious to cover a tune that already had a definitive version, in this case by the Spencer Davis Group (featuring writer Steve Winwood). However, you must recall that Chicago was a damn good, multi-talented band back in 1971, full of creativity and genuine rock sensibilities. So they managed to make yet another definitive version. Most of the track is a celebration of the group's drummer and rhythm section, leading slowly back to guitarist Terry Kath's psych-rock chording. This is a beautiful copy of the red-label Columbia Hall of Fame reissue, in its Hall of Fame factory sleeve. It has pristine Mint audio.

  • Pipeline by Chantay's
    Label: Dot 16440
    Year: 1963
    Condition: M-
    Price: $30.00

This great 45 contains not only one of the best Surf instrumentals (which ranks at #81 on Dave Marsh's list of the 1,001 greatest singles), but also a hidden Garage-Rock gem on the flip side. Not to be missed! Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Dot Records factory sleeve. The labels grade a strong EX to reflect a small label partially removed from the B side label. The vinyl grades Near Mint with a few light scuffs. The audio is Near Mint with just some very light underlying surface noise.
