1990. The song that killed the X-15. It's Passionblade!

Okay, I gotta give you guys something. Here is "The Other Side" on it's own, for those of you that don't feel like wading through the 2 1/2 minutes of dreamy mellow-ness of "Angel" every time to get to it. It stands great on it's own, with it's hightened pulsing progressive energy and meta-physical lyrics. And hey, there's even a picture of a unicorn that goes with it. From 1991.

And here's the full song... Aug '92 - The first song I recorded with my Peavey G-90 guitar. An instrumental version of a song I had been playing with my band. A little Vai influence showing up in the guitar playing here.

There is a still resonance I found with the D-10s high frequency organ and the low reverberating rumbles. I fell in love with it in '90 on "Atlantic Reign". There's lot's of space there....and I used this sound on probably 50% of the stuff I recorded from '90-'94.I suppose it's good to have little trademarks.I was also lucky to have a really good quality reverb - roland DEP-5 and I used it liberally. This is a mix of the two middle tracks of "Three Before Seven". The full version with drums and lead guitar will follow shortly. meanwhile track 2 & 3 are fun to listen to by themselves.

'92 - Theme song for my high school's cable TV news show. The fabulous Roland D-10 featured here in all it's Synthy glory. Leaning heavily on the Big Ol Brass patch, edited a bit to get that wonderful 80's-esque sawtooth synth sound.:-)

Sometime in '92. A fun little rockin/blues jam I recorded for my high school's Cable TV show. I wasn't drunk, I was just playing that way. :)

GA3 - Oct '93. I recorded this in my dorm at Belmont University in Nashville. My friend Jenny Boitman, who was attending Vanderbilt down the street, came over and lended her celestial vocals.

Slammin and compact, this is a nice 12/8 groove from around March '93....A little after Triton and Carousel.

. Experimenting here with a medieval-ish kind of flavor.

Blue Skies '91. This was a true group effort. John is singing most of it. Our voices were similar. we also dressed alike and said "dude" alot. Naomi sings backups on it.I sing the first verse and then switch to backing vox for the rest.

A gem from Summer 1990.No guitar or vocals on this one, I played alto sax as the lead instrument. Pink Floyd-esque. Lush chord voicings, vast wide-open groove.There are lyrics for this, but they have never made it to tape.. yet.
