in 1976 the members of Rush were at a crossroads. Their recent album "Caress of Steel" had been a disappointment both critically and commercially. Mercury had put them on notice that they had one last shot to make an album that would feature more radio friendly fare... So what does Rush do? They did exactly the opposite and wound up with their most successful album up to that point. In this episode we discuss why 2112 is so important and impactful.

In 1974 an eighteen year old guitarist from Germany named Michael Schenker joined a British psychedelic blues group called UFO.
