Lights Out, as originally broadcast December 22, 1937, 80 years ago. This was the traditional Christmas tale, written by the originator of Lights Out, Wyllis Cooper. Cooper’s trademark was seriously gruesome tales, too vile and icky to discuss in this writing. But this very gentle fantasy portrays three soldiers on a troop train in 1918. Also an excerpt from The Good News show, December 22, 1938 with Baby Snooks visiting Santa. Fanny Brice plays Snooks, while Hanley Stafford portrays her long suffering father.
