This is the final piece of the revised cycle. It has many rubati and tempo changes (all with metronome marks) and some Jazz influence, to teach the student a more improvised and free style of interpretation.
Here Bartók explores the atonal realm a bit, no main key. The two hands have to play in very different volumes to train the student's ability of independence between both hands.
