Though the painting of the N-Word on LeBron's Gate occurred in May 2017 just before the NBA finals were about to start, today the same, perhaps MORE inflamed racism, is still flaring. Especially after another police shooting of a black man, Jacob Blake, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. 7 bullets into his back with his three young children in the car - and LeBron speaking out about it. And Jason Whitlock tweeting this Uncle Tommery about LeBron:
'I'm black. I'm not scared. I'm not terrified. Neither is LeBron James. He's lying. He and the political activists controlling him want black people to immerse themselves in fear. Fear is a tool used to control people.'
This was a reaction to what Whitlock reported LeBron tweeted, as reported in outkick**:
“And y’all wonder why we say what we say about the police! Someone please tell me WTF is this?! Exactly another black man being targeted. This s&$# is so wrong and so sad! Feel so sorry for him, his family and our people! We want justice.”
“I know people get tired of hearing me say it, but we are scared as black people in America,” James said. “Black men, black women, black kids, we are terrified.”
“If you’re sitting here and telling me that there was no way to (subdue) that gentleman or detain him or just before firing guns, then you’re sitting here lying to not only me, but you’re lying to every African American, every black person in the community,” James said.

Contrast the with what Los Angeles Clippers NBA coach Doc Rivers had to say - quoted from ABCNEWS*:
Following Tuesday night's win over the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers discussed why unarmed Black men continued to be shot by police.
"What stands out to me is, just watching the Republican convention, they are spewing this fear. All you hear is Donald Trump and all of them talking about fear. We're the ones getting killed," Rivers said, speaking with reporters after the game. "We're the ones getting shot. We're the ones that were denied to live in certain communities. We've been hung, we've been shot, and all you do is keep hearing about fear."
"It's amazing why we keep loving this country and this country does not love us back," he said, fighting back tears. "It's really so sad."
Rivers said police need better training, but he said that doesn't mean he hates police or that they should be abolished.
"My dad was a cop. I believe in good cops," he added. "We're not trying to defund them and take all their money away. We're trying to get them to protect us, just like they protect everybody else."

Fear is a big part of the story. Fear and racism do not make a good mix, no matter what frosting you put atop the cake. And you can add this spice into the story: [from the same above source / story]:
'Cellphone video from Tuesday night's protests showed a white man armed with what appeared to be a semiautomatic rifle running past police and being chased by demonstrators. The footage showed the man trip and fall and appear to open fire on demonstrators. He then is seen running away.
The alleged gunman surrendered himself to police in Antioch, Illinois, in the "pre-dawn hours" Wednesday, authorities said. He was identified as 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse and was arrested based on a warrant issued by Kenosha County authorities charging him with first-degree intentional homicide, police said. He was also being held on a charge of "fugitive from justice." '
