It seems like the search for the next Vancouver Canucks is down to two finalists: Ryan Johnson and Evan Gold. Is there a chance the club will find new positions for both of them?

As well, I bring on my mother Joyce in honour of Mother's Day.

With the disappointing draft lottery behind us, we Canucks fans can now look forward to 7 weeks of speculation ahead of the June 26 NHL Entry Draft. In tonight's show, I talked about some of the intriguing possibilities...and not just for the Canucks.

I break down all the big Canucks news of the day:

-the Canucks lost both draft lotteries and will pick third in next month's NHL Entry Draft.

-President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford announced that he will be stepping down following the NHL Draft.

-the shortlist for the next GM is apparently down to five names.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will pick first, and the San Jose Sharks will pick second.

Tuesday, May 5, 2026 could be one of the most important dates in Vancouver Canucks history...if the Canucks happen to emerge with the first-overall pick.

In today's show, I preview the draft lottery by explaining the difference between winning the lottery and winning the first overall pick. I also revisit the 1999 draft when Brian Burke emerged with both Sedins. Then I make way for the viewers with some Open Mic time.

Bad news for the Vancouver Canucks as defenceman Filip Hronek got injured playing for Czechia in an overseas tune-up tournament for the IIHF World Championships. Meanwhile, Hronek's long-time blue partner Quinn Hughes advanced with his Minnesota Wild teammates after beating the Dallas Stars.

I talk about how blessed we are as Vancouver Canucks fans to have had both Jim Robson and John Garrett (along with many others) call Canucks games. I also examine the current state of Canucks media and bring on a few viewers to share their thoughts as well.

We talk about the passing of popular Vancouver Canucks broadcaster John Garrett. Garrett passed away in Utah on Monday, April 27. We also share our favourite memories of him.
