The world celebrated World Water Day this week as South Africa grapples with issues of clean drinking water, water scarcity, and aging water infrastructure. Clean drinking water availability is a great challenge, especially in rural South Africa where some villages can go for months without water. Global emergency relief organizations, such as AmeriCares, CARE, Save the Children, and World Vision, have provided clean drinking water using the P&G water purifier packets since 2004 and reckon it may also offer relief to South Africa.
