The calling of the first disciples is a story of incredible importance because it shows us how ordinary men (and women) - are called by the Messiah of God - to do extraordinary things in His name. And it is in that calling, we must remember that Jesus always sees the potential you will have, not just where you are now. In no place is that more evidenced in the name change that Andrew's brother, Simon (Peter), went through upon meeting the Christ. Are we willing to also give up everything we know, we prefer, and that we like in order to serve and lead a life that glorifies God?
