With 1024-QAM, we are now able to encode 10 bits per cycle on each subcarrier. The way we are able to do that is by increasing the number of different levels of amplitudes used to encode the data.
There are multiple functions in which a client or AP can gain access to the channel. What we're going to discuss is in addition to the HCF and DCF.
Jussi joins the show to discuss the unveiling of new products from Ekahau:
- Ekahau Connect
- Ekahau Pro
- Unlocked features in the Sidekick
- Ekahau Survey for iPad
- Ekahau Cloud
- Ekahau Capture
- Ekahau University
All the current power saving mechanisms defined today remain usable with 802.11ax. In addition, the 802.11ax draft defines a new mechanism called Target Wake Time or TWT.
Target wake time (TWT) is used to help minimize contention between clients and reduce the amount of time a client in power save mode to be awake.
Cisco publishes data sheets on their first 802.11ax access points, C9115ax and C9117ax, and we talk about the upcoming Cisco Live 2019 in San Diego.
François provides a technical explanation of the new OFDMA subcarriers that are present in 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6). What you should know about them.
What is BSS Coloring and how does it change Wi-Fi 6? What is it about 802.11ax that makes it different from the previous Wi-Fi protocols?
802.11ax OFDMA Resource Units (RUs) are a big change to Wi-Fi. It brings multi-user to wireless transmissions on a single channel by dividing the channel into RUs. Listen to our discussion of RUs on our latest episode. #wifi #WiFi6 #11ax
An overview of Wi-Fi 6, or as it's technically known - 802.11ax. What do you need to know and how does it differ from previous protocols?
