This episode is a little different than most of the episodes we've done, but what we're experiencing throughout our country is a little different from anything any of us have experienced before as well. At this time of uncertainty, individuals panicking, worried, scared and not knowing what the future holds. I decided to do an episode a little different than we normally release on Clearing The Haze.

I decided to put this episode together and release it after listening to one of my mentors, my wife and a lot of deep thinking an soul searching as to what I could do to help. In this episode I talk about the tenet of Gratitude and how it can powerfully change not only your life, but those around you as well. I hope you enjoy this episode and that it is as powerful for you as it was for me to produce for you.

In a couple of recent studies, Medications were used in an effort to combat CUD (Cannabis Use Disorder) and the results were not surprising.

In this episode of Clearing The Haze, we talk about these studies and the end results reported. With more and more states now banning pre-employment testing of Marijuana, its more important than ever to provide training for both collectors and clients in an effort to identify impairment in the workplace as well as addiction.

Are we forgetting the importance of drug and alchohl testing for our bus drivers? 

Especially our school bus drivers? 

In this weeks episode of Clearing The Haze we discuss a recent report by the US News  entitled " Are States Protecting Students From Impaired School Bus Drivers? In recent months we have seen numerous reports of school buses and buses involved in fatal accidents with the end result determine that the driver was impaired at the time with Alcohol and or drugs. In most cases this could have been preventable but no one was aware of the condition or issues the driver was dealing with that lead up to these tragic events.

In this episode we give you some tips and thoughts in how we can better serve our clients who have these drivers and help give them and our communities the piece of mind we need knowing that hundreds of children each day rely on these drivers to get them to where they are going safely.

Patience is your superpower! 

Patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay trouble or suffering without getting angry or upset in the instant gratification society that we live in  our world today we want everything right now and on demand.

Sometimes our urgency is because we think somebody else in our industry is going to take this client before we can achieve having them as our own. One of the important things we need to understand is that anyone company is not able to service everyone. 

Patience and understanding make communicational the difference, in the end Patience will help you not only in  achieving your goals and dreams for your business, but also in helping you in obtaining the clients you desire.

Are your clients ignoring the dangers of not testing their employees to avoid addressing the use of drugs? Are they choosing to do this in hopes of not loosing employees and the fear of not being able to replace them? A growing trend is beginning with employers choosing not to pre-employment test for Marijuana, but still test for it when random testing, post accident or reasonable suspicion testing setting a dangerous standard where employers could be setting themselves up for lawsuits and other liability issues.

Hallucinogens- Are You Ready To Test For Them?

In this week’s episode we’re talking about the one group of drugs that often gets overlooked and not tested for in today’s workplace.

In recent weeks there has been news reports and stories not only talking about adult use and abuse of Hallucinogens but also a resurgence of Youth experimenting with or using this drugs openly on social media and while in school.

This week we talk about the use of Hallucinogens , what to look for and training opportunities to learn more about signs and symptoms of impairment with this and other drugs we come across in today’s workplace.

I Attended the FMCSA Clearinghouse  regional training session in Atlanta Ga this past week and wanted to share with you updated information since the clearinghouse is up and running from the notes I took while attending this seminar.

During this session we were told that the system is up and running as of January 6th, they did have some computer glitches the first couple of days but are confident that those issues are resolved stating that they did have a plan b that was utilized and worked .

Since January 6th and up to the day of this training session ODAPC reported that

·  there have been over 400,000 registrations since opening day

·  More than 6,000 queries have been performed

·  Violations are being reported successfully with 1600 having been reported at the time of the seminar
