What does learning to ride a bike have to do with the business, you ask!

I follow my intuition; it brings me fun ideas like how learning to ride a bike is connected to business.

Key Points: 

• When things are challenging, identify what gives you the motivation and determination?
• What opportunities can appear when you have accomplished what is challenging you?
• Close your eyes, see yourself standing there looking at what you accomplished. How do you feel?
• How you feel once it is accomplished is what you want to drive you forward! 
• Focus on the feeling, not the specifics!

Power of intuition when you HAVE to do things?

We all have those HAVE to do things in our lives, so can intuition guide you through your HAVE to do's in simpler, less stressful ways?

I say YES! Here is why.

• Intuition is the key to efficiency and productivity.
• Intuition clarifies for better, more concise decisions.
• Intuition simplifies through bringing things together in unexpected ways, synchronicity.
• All of the above leads to less stress and more joy!

Key Points:

• When you are feeling pressured to get things done by the outside or by yourself, take a moment to step away, do something to relax your mind.
• Open your relaxed mind to possibilities to do things simpler more efficiently.
• Give yourself 15, 30 even an hour to take a break, do something to relax: Take a walk, time with plants, watch a video, listen to music, color, work on something else, do something completely different, call a friend.
• Ask intuition to guide you to a fresh approach or inspire you.

When something we feel is a HAVE to do, it becomes a burden, and we fall into the bog. Sure, you can convince yourself that you GET to do this, but sometimes that doesn't get the job done. So instead of procrastinating to avoid the job or going about it in the most challenging manner, trust your intuition to clear the way and get a little joy of a job done efficiently and with simplicity! That always leads to joy!

Lessons from Peter Rabbit

Growing up, I loved the Beatrix Potter series with Peter Rabbit. Perter Rabbits' wise mother said, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." 

What does this have to do with business or intuition, you ask. As I say, clarity from your intuition often requires us to move away from the internal chatter, data, and emotions where we can hear our intuition. But it is difficult to quiet the mind and emotions when we have too much chatter in our heads, especially nasty self-talk and outside expectations pushing us in the wrong direction. 

Key Points:

• By valuing your gifts and unique way of being in the world, know who you are.
• Embrace your path, no matter how different it may seem to the outside world.
• Remind yourself and others, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."  
• Be confident that your unique gifts are to impact the world and trust your intuition.

Follow your internal compass. It is your guide, do not allow anyone or anything to stop you. There is a reason you have your gifts and the compass to guide them.

Intuition is in the journey!

Life is a journey. Every moment of our lives is part of the journey. Letting go of the plan, the details, and allowing the journey to unfold is where the magical, memorable moments happen!

Key Points: 

• Know your outcome, the feeling you want to have when you reach your desired outcome. Not the details.
• The unexpected moments are under construction, creating new possibilities, opportunities, and synchronicity.
• Allow for flexibility and the journey to unfold. Expect intuition to lead you to moments that are better than you could have planned!

The journey isn't supposed to be perfect. It is full of ups and downs, laughter, tears, and magical moments. When you end up in a construction zone, it leads to something amazing and new! Be open to the possibilities!

Calgon, take me away!

When talking with a client recently, I thought of the old bubble bath ad for Calgon. When everything feels as though it is a priority and urgent, you don't know where to start or which one to do first its as though a house full of children are screaming at you for attention. In that moment, it is hard to think and hear your intuition. 

Key Points:

• Stress caused by timelines and urgency clouds your clarity with intuition.
• Take a step back, ask how you can simplify, what feels like the best next step, allow your intuition to come through clearer.
• Ask yourself whether you are following your path or someone else's.
• You can identify the path ahead when there is no background chatter of judgment.
• Stand up for your path and allow your intuition to light the path, as other innovative leaders have done.  

Just because you're not doing it how others tell you how to do it or not, how the experts say you should do business doesn't mean you are doing it wrong. You just aren't doing it how they did. You are following your path of innovation.

I like you just the way you are!

One of my favorite holiday movies is Bridget Jones, and the line that gets the aww is "I like you just the way you are."  

What on earth does this have to do with business and intuition? I am so glad you asked! 

Key Points: 

• Knowing who you are and liking who you are is key to being a confident and strong leader.
• Liking yourself is that Goldilocks zone, that sweet spot when you hear your intuition clearly.
• The idea is to like who you are, which will draw the right people to you, like a magnet who will like you just as you are.  
• If you try to be someone or something other than yourself, everything is more difficult, and it is near impossible to hear your intuition clearly.
• Be you!

Intuition in partnership with logic.

I recently had a conversation about logical thinking and intuition. The person I spoke to felt that relying on intuition was risky as it had too many unknowns. I, of course, on the other hand, having experienced the magic of allowing intuition to lead me, was the better, more trusted way. 

The question what role does logic have in an intuitive led life?

Key Points:

• Intuition guidance includes your knowledge and experience, knowing for you to act, you must have the knowledge to get there or a least to get started.
• When the topic is entirely new, gathering information adds to the intuitive process, clarifying the steps forward.
• Intuition gives you information to act on based on your knowledge and experience.  
• Intuition gives you information to act on based on your level of trust.

Logic, analytical thinking work in partnership; they are the tool that allows you to act upon the intuitive information given to you. The trick is not relying so much on the analytical it can lead you down a more difficult path. Allow intuition to be your guide.

Intuition, the thirteenth floor

I find it funny buildings ignore the thirteenth floor, thinking by not naming it thirteen, there's no thirteenth floor. It is a perception we accept. We all pretend there is no thirteenth floor, even though it is only in the name.

Intuition is similar, referenced through many different names and incidents, but we never ask questions or call out the obvious. 

1st Example: "Give me a read on that person." 

2nd Example: "The company was nearly in bankruptcy, but I knew (or my intuition told me) we would be in a better position in the next year. 

Key Points:

• No matter how much we pretend something doesn't exist, it still exists. 
• We open up a new enlightening conversation by acknowledging and calling out what exists. 
• Know that intuition is always there. It is always available no matter what you name it, no matter what you name it.
• Ask about and knowledge intuition in all aspects of your life and business.

We play funny tricks on ourselves like renaming the thirteenth floor, the fourteenth floor, just as we do with renaming or glossing over intuition in business.

Intuition and a Jelly Donut!

I am continuing the conversation from episode 111, But have a bit more fun!

When emotions are running high; fear, anger, or over-exaggerated optimism, our perception of what intuition is telling us is unreliable. When this happens, we question if we should trust our intuition. 

Intuition provides clarity! So how can a Jelly donut help? It's about getting to the Goldilocks zone, a state of centered joy quickly and easily.

Key Points:

• When you begin to question your intuition, you are in a higher state of emotion; your emotion is guiding you, NOT your intuition.
• Practice intuition in less high-stakes moments in your life and decisions, lowering the chance for emotions to be guiding light.
• Imagine a Jelly donut or favorite treat in great detail. Smell, feel, see and taste. 
• Relax, and listen for your intuition. 

Have fun! Relax! Be at ease and keep it simple!
