Paul authenticates his gospel ministry with four clear marks. In this passage, we learn that every believer is called to authentic, gospel ministry that is urgent, costly, holy, and beautiful.

Luke 9 marks a significant transition in the ministry of Jesus as He begins to involve His disciples more actively in the work of ministry. Jesus was preparing them for what was ahead and teaching them that the mission was bigger than themselves. There were—and still are—people all around us who desperately need Jesus. The question is, “Who in your life needs Jesus?” As we examine this passage, we are reminded that the need for Jesus is not limited to others—it is a need we all share. We all need Jesus!

Life's storms often come without warning, even when we're walking in obedience to God. Jesus reminds us that His presence is our assurance, the persistence of the storm has a purpose, and the priority is always our faith. Is Jesus in your boat? Join us today as we look at "The Unexpected Storm".

In our scripture today, we see people coming to Jesus in moments of desperation and death. Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood both come to Jesus believing that He alone can help them. Their stories remind us that our greatest needs can bring us to our knees.
