In Ruth 4, we see that the death and tragedy of chapter 1 have been reversed. God has restored and filled Naomi's life. He offers that same story for all of us.
This week we look at one of the most dramatic, tense moments in all of the Bible. Naomi has a plan to get Ruth a husband, but Ruth has a plan of her own to provide for Naomi. What do human initiative and risk-taking look like when they interact with God's work? We'll see in Ruth 3.
Today we discuss chapter 2 of Ruth. We will see that while God is not visible in the story he is absolutely present and at work. He is working for you and through you, even when we can't see it.
On this resurrection Sunday, we look at how we can endure trials because of our living and fixed hope of salvation that comes through the death and resurrection of Christ!
Today we look at Christ receiving the commission of his test in Luke 9 and turning his focus toward the cross in Jerusalem, and then his final test, in a garden, in Matthew 26. Adam and Eve failed the test in a garden, but Jesus does not.
Last week we looked at God testing Israel in the Wilderness discussed in Deut 8, and now Jesus will quote from that same section of Scripture during his own tempting and testing in the wilderness. Unlike Israel, Jesus is God's true Son who passes the test.
