Alliant Energy has agreed to more modest rate hikes than they’d initially requested in a settlement the Public Service Commission approved Thursday.
Also included in the settlement: the utility company will implement a slew of new programs focused on energy conservation and affordability. The agreement comes after months of negotiations with stakeholders like Clean Wisconsin, an environmental advocacy group.
Brett Korte, a staff attorney with Clean Wisconsin, tells WORT News Producer Faye Parks that the settlement is a win for utility customers, the environment…and Alliant’s bottom line.
