I want to share a story about the cover photo. I was born and raised in Cape Porpoise, Maine, on the street called Fisher’s Lane. All my neighbors were fishermen. My heroes were John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, John Lennon, Muhammad Ali, and Bruce Lee. I was the least likely person to rock climb or scale towering skyscrapers, but I enjoyed scampering up old-growth hardwood trees. When I discovered Quoddy Head State Park, the most northeastern point in the United States, I was raking blueberries with the Micmac Indians in Cherryfield, Maine, crouched in a field under the scorching sun.
