Cling

Listen Later

Cling

Buds were blooming, birds

were humming

Hearts were zooming and babe

you were coming

But the music stopped, an

awkward pause I couldn’t sing

The level of excitement

dropped, once again you felt the need to cling

Hanging on to dilemmas,

isolated in old regrets and past fear

Need to pick shades of

sienna, colors  that bring warmth and
cheer

Be deciding on the shape of

tomorrow, where to watch the birds sing

No more wasting time on that

sorrow, come take my soul baby cling

Hold on like plastic wrap

that goes astray and you say crap that shit just cling

Hold on and don’t let go even

if the ugliest things in life show

Hold on baby and I’ll never

let go, put our voices together and sing

And wrap your love around my messed

up shit and baby cling

We ain’t perfect and we don’t

always smell sweet,

but baby come rain or shine

I’ll always grab your feet

Baby let me hear you clear

your pretty lungs and sing

Fall into me mama and

forevermore baby let me feel you cling
