And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved (hb. – brooded like a mother hen on her eggs) upon the face of the waters.
Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God (ELOHIM)
created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was (hb. – BECAME) without form(hb. – tohu: confusion, waste, wilderness), and void(hb.- bohu: undistinguished ruin);
and darkness (misery, death, destruction, sorrow, wickedness) was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God (ELOHIM) himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established (ordered,
perfected, provided prosperity) it, he created it not in vain(hb. – tohu: confusion, waste, wilderness), he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
