Patrick brought with him an essay he wrote in high school that conveyed (in very non-subtle ways) how he used to feel about relationships between men and women during an emotionally vulnerable time in his life. When he wrote it, hisopinions were meant to be expressed somewhat comedically, but they hinted at real insecurities he was feeling. Patrick’s motivations to write this included – among other things – seeing the movies 'In the Land of Women' and 'Crash' as well as having very specific takeaways from Chuck Klosterman’s writing.
