This has been a difficult year, and it has shown a lot of us where our hope is. If our hope is in anything other than Jesus, we will end up disappointed. We have to hope in the only one who will never let us down, and share that hope with the world around us!

Jesus is Enough! In Mark 8 Jesus reminds his disciples that He is not only enough, but more than Enough. Jesus wants to give us an abundant life. All we have to do is look to Him. We cannot do that making Jesus in our image, but by knowing Him better and laying down our own desires for His will. 

In Mark chapter seven Jesus speaks heavily against the traditions set up for the sake of tradition. It is important that we focus more on how we live our life more than tradition. Our goal is not to be "good people" but to try to live like Jesus lived. 

Many people ask Jesus to be their savior, but fewer ask Him to be their Lord. God deserves to be ruling our lives, we see in chapter six that when we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus He takes care of our needs, and helps us through the storms. 

 Rejecting the truth means I get to keep doing what I’m doing, but accepting the truth means I need to change. We see three stories in Mark 6 that show what happens when people resist the truth, as well as examples from Jesus when people resist truth. We must have a humble approach, and not let those who resist truth slow us down.

We see Jesus show extraordinary power in Mark 5. He shows that He has power over the Devil, Disease, and Death. We spend time looking into what that meant when Jesus was on Earth, and what it means for us now. 

Mark chapter 4 gives us several different parables all pointing to the importance of growth. Jesus wanted us to know the importance of personal growth, as well as growing the Kingdom of God. We look at what these passages mean, and how they can impact our lives.

We see Jesus in Mark 3 really encourage His followers to take action. We are called to do the same. Not to just be church goers waiting on the return of Jesus, but to live out our faith and putting it into action.

In the first week of our series "Finally, Some Good News," we look at the Gospel of Mark and at who Jesus was. We see that Jesus was different than anyone else, which made him stand out, and that He was awesome. We look at what Mark says about Jesus, and how that can impact our lives today.
