HBO recently released a documentary called "Bama Rush" intended to shed light into the cut throat and competitive nature of the sorority recruitment aka "rush" experience at the University of Alabama and we were all for it!! Until...30 minutes in and we realized the documentary fell flat in delivery and was partially a documentary on the director's experience with alopecia. Confused? We were too. Nevertheless, we found it our absolute duty to give you a deep dive into the documentary, the prospective new members (PNMs), and all the heartbreaking things we picked up on: the girls' innate desire to just "fit" in, the clownish rules of rush and being in a sorority, body issues, and racial struggles - jam packed in one episode! But first up, Yuchen is reporting on some VERY clownish news coming out of Uber this week. Thank you for your support!

Bustle recently released an article illustrating how the rise of therapy speak is now being used by the broader public in situations such as setting boundaries and ending relationships. With the rise of terms such as "toxic," "narcissism," and "self-love," what was once an open dialogue between two individuals is now being turned into one-sided hurtful remarks that often leaves the other party perplexed. We talk through some of the stories in the episode and which ones we (sadly) related to and then discuss how we see therapy speak play out on TikTok. We have decided to relive the joy and cringe (?) of some of our favorite young adult novels that we read in our childhood by starting a series called Throwback Book Club! We're kicking it off with a banger by rereading Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar and boy was it a difficult read. As part of the discussion we reflect on the impact that it had on our teenage years (Y was 7 when she first read it!), compare and contrast some key moments of the book versus the tv series, and discuss the overall writing and our favorite parts. It's not a book club without a scored review but we won't spoil that part for you. Will we ever find out who gossip girl really is?! Will A finally get off of hunger games TikTok??
