What is God asking of you and your church in the new year? Pastor Wes's 2017 message to Christ Memorial presents a challenge and a warning we all need to hear.

The glory of Christ's birth – and ultimately of His death, burial and resurrection – is the glory of an unfathomable gift to utterly ill-deserving sinners.

On that glorious Christmas morning, the long-expected Messiah was born and the angels sang, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace . . ."

 

Before He was born, the Messiah's name was chosen, signifying both His peace mission and His eternal identity.

Despite walking in the darkness of sin and judgment, God has shown us the great light of His Promised Prince who will bring peace over all the earth. It is to this Prince alone that we owe our total allegiance.

Jesus Christ has given His church all that she needs to grow into a unified, mature man according to the working of each individual part. 

Walking in a manner worthy of our calling in Christ means fighting to preserve the peace, which is grounded in the "Ones."

God's plan from eternity is to fill the whole creation with His glorious image, a plan accomplished in Christ and worked out through the Church, as we are conformed to His image and win the nations for Him.
