In this episode of Shark Talk, we sit down with Joelle Schad ’91, one of the most accomplished figures in the history of Dominican tennis. Joelle made history as the first Dominican female tennis player to represent the country at the Olympic Games, competing in Atlanta in 1996.

From a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 219 to four ITF professional singles titles, eight Central American and Caribbean Games medals, and two Pan American Games medals, Joelle’s career is a remarkable story of talent, dedication, and representing the Dominican Republic on the international stage.

A longtime Fed Cup player and 2016 inductee into the Dominican Republic Sports Hall of Fame, Joelle continues to make an impact in racquet sports today, championing the growth of padel and contributing to its development throughout the Dominican Republic.

Raul is a serial financial entrepreneur with over two decades of expertise in investment fund management, financial advisory, corporate finance, structuring, and financial derivatives. His impressive career spans notable positions at Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and Citibank. Currently, Raul serves as the President of the Board of Altio, the premier investment fund manager in the Dominican Republic📈.

Mr. Hoyo holds a BA in Business Administration and Economics with a specialization in Finance and Marketing from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania. He also earned an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Family Business from Babson College.

Jorge has over 20 years of experience in banking, consulting, and the Dominican stock market.
