  • 195. Living Family First | Mackey Live

In our latest episode, Mackey is talking about the simple, yet difficult practice of living family first.

It is okay that family goals COST something because your family is more important than your goals. When you put your family goals above your personal goals, your personal goals will fall in line and your personal goals serve your family goals.

    Key takeaways from this podcast:

    • Your personal goals will suffer when you have family goals.
    • Your personal goals should serve your family goals.
    • If your personal goals serve your family goals, then the harder you work for your family goals the more successful you will be for your personal goals.

  • 193. Don't Buy the Lie | Mackey Live

When you make a mistake do you justify them? Do you try to cover them up? If so, you're losing.

You never lose so long as you learn.

Our latest episode is a past favorite on iron clad character and learning from past mistakes. In this podcast, Mackey takes us through where 2Words was at over year ago. He emphasizes the idea that there is no overnight success and building 2Words took over 27 years of experience to come to fruition.

If you admit that you are wrong and take steps to grow, you're a learner.

    Key Takeaways from this podcast:

    • The people who have the greatest integrity have made mistakes and LEARNED from them.
    • People with great integrity don't HOPE for who they are, they AUDIT who they are.
    • There is no such thing as an overnight success

  • 192. One Day Is This Day | Mackey Live

In our latest episode, Mackey is coming to us live sharing 2 words with us, One Day.

We tend to think of "one day" as a far off day in the distance.

We think that "one day" is synonymous with "some day".

Yesterday is gone, tomorrow isn't promised, and the only day we have is this ONE day.

    Key takeaways from this podcast:

    • How you spend this one day will determine the quality of your some day.
    • Do not let opportunity pass to the next one because the next one is different.
    • Do not neglect the work of today, today. Do not put it off until tomorrow.

  • 191. Positive Responses and Positive Pressure | A Mashup

In our latest episode, we're bringing you a mashup of two different important ideas. We share the importance of controlling your responses because they effect the situation's outcome AND the importance of positive pressure and using that pressure to catapult you into success.

Mackey and Colton talk positive pressure and the fact that pressure in itself is neither inherently bad or good, but it is your response, your outlook that creates it into a bad or good situation.

Believe it or not, stress is actually a good thing. Stress can keep you moving forward on the right path. It takes time to reach your goal, to win a state championship, to build a business, and so in order to stop you from being burnt out, pace yourself. Slow and steady wins the race!

We also share an interview with Brian Kight where he shares the idea behind E+R=O and what it practically means and looks like both on the field and in life.

    Key takeaways from this podcast:

    • There is positive stress, not all stress is bad. Stress can keep you on pace.
    • "You can't win a state championship in one week."
    • Events + Response = Outcome
    • If you want better outcomes, you have to engage in better responses

  • 191. Next Step, Best Step | A Mashup

In our latest episode, we're bringing you a Mackey Mashup. We pulled three of our favorite moments on being all in in the present to bring your best self into the future.

The only thing you can control NOW is the next thing, not something one week, one month, or one year from now. Keep your eyes forward and dig in.

    Key takeaways from this podcast:

    • When you focus on what you CAN control NOW, it's importance rises because of the investment you make into it.
    • The more you put into something, the more it matters.
    • Failure is not fatal, and success is not final.

In this episode, we're bringing you a past favorite with Coach Laing as he pulls back the curtain on Northside ISD. Coach shares his story, and the importance of building hope in the lives of our athletes.

    Key takeaways from this podcast:

    • You'll never lose putting other people first.
    • Before you ever change the culture in your program, you have to first change the culture in the adults that will be leading them.
    • Adversity builds endurance, endurance builds character, and character creates hope.

  • 189. Doubt Anchors, Hope Propels | Commitment Counts Part 4

Are you anchored in DOUBT or PROPELLED by hope?

In our latest episode, Mackey is bringing us our final podcast on commitment.

Mackey shares with us how it's so easy to get caught up in doubt and fear. It is through hope that we propel ourselves forward.

It's easy to doubt and hard to hope. Hope seems far away, but doubt is easy to hold on to.

Doubt has a way of paralyzing us right where we are.

    Key takeaways from this podcast:

    • Doubt anchors us down and hope launches us forward
    • Hope gives you the confidence that where you are isn't where you'll have to stay forever
    • Leaders believe that there is more tomorrow than there is today
