MLS is Back Tournament to kick off on July 8 in Orlando Major League Soccer unveiled its plans for returning to play in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, with the league set to resume on July 8 with what it is calling the MLS is Back Tournament. All 26 MLS teams will participate in the competition, which will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort, just outside Orlando, Florida. (ESPN is owned by The Walt Disney Company.) "We are pleased to team up with Disney to relaunch the 2020 MLS season and get back to playing soccer," MLS commissioner Don Garber said. "The opportunity to have all 26 clubs in a controlled environment enables us to help protect the health of our players, coaches and staff as we return to play." Teams will head to Orlando starting on June 24, though arrival dates will vary because most teams will prefer to train in their home market. Teams must arrive no later than seven days before their first match. The US Women’s National Team is demanding their employer, US Soccer, end a policy requiring players to stand during the national anthem.

“The Federation should immediately repeal the ‘Anthem Policy,’ publish a statement acknowledging the policy was wrong when it was adopted, and issue an apology to our Black players and supporters,” the national team players said in a statement to BuzzFeed News.

(CNN)The US Soccer Federation is considering a repeal of a policy requiring national team players to stand during the National Anthem, according to an ESPN report.

The federation's board of directors plans to discuss the new policy Tuesday and a formal vote is expected Friday. If approved, the policy would take immediate effect, but will also need to be approved at the next annual general meeting next year.

Tottenham hotspur's have borrowed £175 million from the British government to help cope with the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Both Spurs and the Bank of England confirmed on Thursday that an agreement had been reached as part of the government's COVID Corporate Financing Facility (CCFF).

A Health Ministry source told the Sport1 website that the incident would be considered in a debate on whether to allow fans back in the stands.

The Israeli Professional Football Leagues (IPFL), the body in charge of the soccer leagues, intends to summon representative for a hearing due to the players’ cooperation with the illegal gathering, and could fine the club, Army Radio reported.
