On todays Podcast we have Dr. Lee Hancock who is a Performance Psychology Coach and program creator that works with athletes, coaches, educators, students, parents, organizations, and other high level performers. Lee earned his Masters and PhD from ASU and is a tenured professor in Kinesiology at CSUDH. He has had a private practice for over 20 years where he has worked with everyone from Olympic to professional to youth athletes and from classroom teachers and students to parents of awesome kids.  Lee is also an internationally recognized speaker and author.

Chapman, who has refereed MLS matches since 2012, has been named the top MLS referee for the second time in three seasons after earning 2017 MLS Referee of the Year and also serving as the lead referee for the 2017 MLS Cup. Chapman becomes the fifth person to win multiple MLS Referee of the Year honors. Factoring in all PRO metrics – general performance, Key Match Incidents accuracy and Video Assistant Referee grading – Chapman’s collective rank is No. 1 among all MLS referees in 2019.

Outside of MLS action this year, the 45-year-old Utah resident was the center referee during the 2019 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final, won by Atlanta United. Chapman was assigned 27 matches this season (tying for the most among PRO referees) and he now has 162 MLS games in his career. Among previous assignments and accomplishments, Chapman was the lead referee at the 2017 MLS All-Star Game featuring MLS and Real Madrid, and he was the fourth official during the 2016 MLS Cup won by Seattle Sounders FC.

From US Soccer- Jessica McDonald is a powerful forward with a proven track record of goal-scoring—she was the first NWSL player to reach 33 regular-season goals. In 2017 and 2018, McDonald’s goals and assists helped lead the North Carolina Courage to two NWSL Shields. She is also mother to seven-year-old Jeremiah and her son is a huge part of her motivation to chase her dreams. “I want him to be proud of his mom,” McDonald says with an ear to ear smile. 

Rene Ortiz is a retired Mexican-American soccer player who currently is a physical ed teacher at hilltop high school in San Diego, California. He spent most of his playing career in indoor soccer with two seasons in the Western Soccer Alliance and one season in Major League Soccer.
