Is Your Coaching Effort 110%? Why not?

I think coaches need to decide their commitment levels. If they ask their players for 110% then they must also ask themselves for 110%

Original Tweets -

“Football’s not played on a whiteboard” is one saying that gets under my skin. Complete cop-out. The offseason is for finding schematic answers to issues. And there’s nothing wrong with saying “we have a dude at __ so thats not an issue” - https://twitter.com/CoachGusSmith1

====

Agree, or "I don't read books or do research, I already know enough football." That's not 110% effort from a Coach asking that of their players.

Offensive Line Practice - Fun Stuff!

In this podcast I talk about my time last night coaching a 7th grade offensive line squad. I had a great time with the big boys. We went through a Chalk Talk, Rule Blocking identification, Step Drills, Sumo Ring Quick Hands & Aggression Drill and Team Offense walk throughs. I absolutely love coaching offensive line and had to talk about it today. I hope you also learn to love coaching the o-line. You will be glad you spend more time with your offensive line. Reward them for their thankless job. FYI, they hate standing around watching you & the RBs perfect the backfield. LOL

Offensive Line One Page Practice Plan -

00-10 min    Alignments, Gap Splits, Stance,

10-20 min    Steps and Get Offs

20-35 min    Blocking Rules

35-50 min    Blocking Techniques

50-90 min    Blocking Drill Time

JAWS Blocking eBook

Blocking is the key to a consistent scoring offense in youth football. Too many youth football coaches try to find a fast tailback and win by running back talent alone. In the long run that skilled RB talent may move, get hurt, let you down, and or not be the fastest running back in your league. You might only end up with less talented RBs but a top tier offensive line. Like Defense, the Offensive Line wins football games and most importantly Championships. Do not forget to focus on Coaching Youth Football Lineman.

O-Line Coach Bundle includes the OLine Drills eBook and One Pager

This is the New Offensive Line Drills eBook 25 O-Line Youth Football Drills Plus OLM One Pager Plan by Coach Parker. A social media reader requested an Offensive Line Drill ebook to match up to my Offensive Lineman Practice Plan – The One Pager so I scrambled this week and got one put together. This should also compliment my JAWS Coaching Youth Football Lineman Oline Blocking eBook. You can get the O-Line Bundle which includes all three too. This O-Line bundle would be great for Offensive Line Coaches.

I just finished the Fall 2021 Season with a 4-4 and a 1st round Playoff loss with an 8U rec youth football team. This was a tough season. Since it was so tough, I went back and reviewed 7 other 8U youth football teams that I have coached.  One was a young youth football team with losses and others with Super Bowls and top 3 and 4 finishes.  I compared 25 characteristics and came to a few conclusions. Listen to the podcast and let me know what you think of my conclusions. Thanks Coach Parker

How do you know what works on a Youth Football Offense against an unknown #1 Defense? This is a great question about youth football offenses. I struggle with this offensive issue against new teams and many times for the first game of the season. Everyone hates the unknown! How does your team stack up against the league? Are we as good as our last season and last week’s scrimmage.

This episode on How do you know what works on a Youth Football Offense against an unknown Defense? tries to answer that question.
