National Lacrosse League Hall of Famer Tracey Kelusky is one of the leaders that inspired this podcast into existence.
There is a legend that when he was picked up by the Calgary
roughnecks, he called then captain Kaleb Toth and said “I’m coming to town and I want the ‘C.’” That should paint the picture of the kind of leader he is.
Tracey is the head coach of the Panther City Lacrosse Club of
the NLL. He won the Les Bartley NLL Head Coach of the Year Award in 2022, his first season as a head coach, when he led the expansion team to a 7-11 record. He followed that up a with a 9-9 sophomore season that awarded PCLC their first ever playoff appearance. As a player Kelusky racked up 823 points during his fourteen year career and won two championships with Calgary.
Today Kelusky is a full time coach with the NLL and his own company E-volve Lacrosse and is regarded as one of the best captains and leaders in the history of the game.
On this episode we discuss his approach to creating a family feel, how to get more out of talented young players and the check list of fundamentals that are core to his coaching.
