Habakkuk prays to God and reminds himself of who God is and how he has worked in the past in the history of Israel. This gives Habakkuk hope. As we live in uncertain times, we need to follow Habakkuk's example.

As Isaac comes to the end of his life, he blesses his two sons, Jacob and Esau. These blessings come true and the promises that God gave to Abraham will continue through Isaac's son, Jacob.

Abraham never received the promise of land during his lifetime. The writer of Hebrews tells us that Abraham and Sarah actually lived for their heavenly home instead. We, as followers of Jesus, are just like Abraham and Sarah. We are strangers or foreigners in a foreign land.

Sarah was the wife of Abraham and she was barren. But God promised that Abraham would have many descendants. How is this possible- Abraham had to wait 25 years to see how God would fulfill this promise. God is faithful and we can trust in Him to keep His word, even if we have to wait.

Noah builds an ark, by faith. Noah obeys God and listens to God's commands and is considered a righteous man. We need to follow God's commands in our lives. Faith is walking in obedience to God because God is trustworthy.
