The master (the LORD) is not pleased and will not praise His servants (God's people) for merely doing the basics, so says Jesus in Luke 17:7-10. Yet how many Christians are not even doing the bare minimum of what God asks His people to do - things like faithfully attend church and participate in ministry? Christians are buying into the lies of the world. We are substituting our devotion to Christ for devotion to pleasure, entertainment, sports, vacation, money, work, etc. Christian - you are better than this! It is high time to increase our faith, and renew our commitment to building up God's Kingdom, and not our own. It is high time to seek praise and reward from the Master - honor that only comes by going above and beyond the call of duty to our LORD. "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day [of Christ] approaching" (Hebrews 10:25).
